All Spirit Matches Track Record in Friday Night Feature

All Spirit and Jimmy Marohn Jr. equaled the Tioga Downs track record for 4-year old pacing mares on Friday night, matching the mark set by Tug River Princess (Eric Goodell) in the Artiscape final in 2009.

All Spirit won the $14,000 featured handicap for fillies and mares in the record-equaling time of 1:52.1.

Marohn backed All Spirit off the gate to settle in sixth as Bet The Ranch cut out fractions of 26.4 and 55.2 before Ubetterthink Think (Mike Micallef) tried a first-over challenge reaching the three-quarters in 1:23.3.

Marohn tipped All Spirit three-wide off cover around the last turn and paced head-and-head with Ubetterthink Think in the stretch to win by a nose in 1:52.1.

Tim Lanpher trains the 4-year old daughter of Bettor’s Delight-Spirit Of Ivy for Larry Lanpher of Winter Park, Fla.

All Spirit won for the second time in three seasonal starts and increased her career earnings to more than $206,000.

Her time of 1:52.1 was her lifetime-best mile.

Jimmy Marohn Jr. posted a driving triple on the night’s 10-race card.

Fern Paquet Jr. had a driving double.

Tioga Downs continues live racing action on Saturday, May 22, with a post time of 6:50 p.m.
