My True Delight takes home feature at Tioga Downs

The gritty, classy mare My True Delight shined back in the spotlight at Tioga Downs on Friday night in the featured $16,500 fillies and mares open handicap pace.

Leaving from post position number four, Howard Parker and My True Delight watched as race favorite Semjac Legacy eagerly paced through fractions of 26.4 and 56 before making their move down the backside.

Parker sent the 8-year-old daughter of Bettor’s Delight – My True Art into a first over grind from fourth as the field passed three quarters in 1:24.3.

Turning for home My True Delight kept fighting gamely on the outside as Semjac Legacy was giving it up on the inside.

Parker and My True Delight won by just over a length for the mare's first victory of the year in 1:54.2.

My True Delight has been a consistent performer on the Tioga Downs racing circuit and with the win, won for the fifth consecutive year at Tioga.

Leanback Coco and Phil Fluet used a ground saving pylon journey to find room late for the place spot, while Lickcreek Jazzy and Ed Hensley found room in the stretch behind the tiring Semjac Legacy to get third.

Lewayne Miller is off to a hot start at Tioga Downs and continued on Friday night with a driving triple, while Howard “Pacin” Parker captured a driving double.

Tioga Downs continues live racing action from Nichols, New York on Saturday, May 14th with a post time of 6:50 pm.
