Shebestingin wins impressively in Tompkins-Geers stakes at Tioga Downs

Shebestingin looked impressive on the program lines coming into Friday night's Tompkins-Geers stakes for 2-year-old filly pacers at Tioga Downs. When the race was over she reassured everyone that was not deceiving winning her division impressively in 1:53.4.

David Miller was unhurried from post position number three and settled in fifth as the field cut through fractions of 27.3 and 57.3. At the half mile mark of the race, Miller sent Shebestingin to the outside and then was quickly sent three wide down the backside as she was not looking for cover. Three quarters popped up in 1:25.2 and Shebestinging was in front by open lengths and she continued that way under wraps in a new lifetime best of 1:53.4.

"She is a very nice filly and she has very high, high speed," said winning trainer Joe Holloway. "She is better tracking horses than she is on the front which a lot of horses are and David was looking to come off the pace he just wasn't looking for any cover."

"To David's credit (driver-David Miller), after the first time he baby raced her he told me that he would stick with her for the rest of the year." added Holloway.

The 2-year-old daughter of Bettor's Delight – Armbro Tussle is now a perfect three for three in her young racing career for Val D'Or Farms, Gewertz, and L&L Devisser.

Capturing the other division for 2-year-old pacing fillies was Aria J – Pat Berry 1:56.2 for trainer Linda Toscano. While the lone division for 2-year-old pacing colts was won by Don't Ya Know (David Miller) in 1:54 for trainer Joe Holloway.
