In A Craze upsets in the Tioga Saturday night feature

In A Craze (Jim Meittinis) avoided the hot contested pace up front early as Fameous Western (Lewayne Miller) parked out the race favorite Winbak Dimensions (Jim Marohn Jr.). The duo battled through fractions of 26.2 and 54.2 before the backfield began swooping in on the leaders.

Mike Simons sent Cheyenne Knight three wide down the backside to gain control of the field by three quarters in 1:22.3 but was towing In A Craze with him during every step. Down the stretch Meittinis angled In A Craze off of Simons helmet and paced by the leader in deep stretch to win in 1:52.2.

It was the sixth win in 30 seasonal starts for the 6-year-old son of Astreos – U Drive Me Crazy for trainer Rob Harmon. The mile equaled the lifetime mark set earlier this year at Tioga Downs and with the win increased his seasonal earnings to more than $51,000.

Cheyenne Knight (Mike Simons) hung on for second, while Diamond Star (Corey Braden) shook loose late for third.

Tioga Downs continues live racing on Friday, September 14th with a post time of 6:50 pm, for more information on Tioga Downs please visit us on our website at www.tiogadowns.com
