Ali Blue Scores in NYSS action on Monday at Tioga Downs

Ali Blue (Yannick Gingras) posted the fastest of three divisions of NYSS for freshman pacing fillies on Monday night at Tioga Downs.

Leaving from post position number one in a field scratched down to seven, Gingras moved Ali Blue back to the front after an opening quarter of 29 set by Suplemental Income (Matt Kakaley). From there the duo posted fractions of 57.1 and 1:24.4 before sprinting home in 27.4 to capture her third win of the season in a new lifetime best of 1:52.3. The only blemish on the record of the 2-year-old daughter of American Ideal – Mintjulep Bluechip, came in the Tompkins-Geers stakes where Ali Blue broke a hopple just after the start of the race. Jimmy Takter trains Ali Blue for the ownership group of Christina Takter, John Fielding, R A W Equine, and Jim Fielding.

Other NYSS division winners included: Sweetnsinful – Jimmy Whittemore in 1:53.2 for trainer Homer Hochstetler and Tioga Downs' track record holder, JK Molly – Tim Tetrick in 1:53 for trainer Linda Toscano.

Five divisions of NYSS Excelsior events were also held on Monday night with divisions being won by: Valentina De Vie – Howard Parker (1:54.3), Spreester – Jim Morrill Jr. (1:57), One Hot Majorette – Tim Tetrick (1:55.4), Just Add Vodka – Tyler Buter (1:57.2), and Francessa – Sam Caruso Jr. (1:56.4).
