10 pacing fillies in "The Ladyship Stakes" headline Tioga Saturday card


A field of 10 sophomore pacing fillies in the $76,200 Ladyship Stakes will headline Saturday night's 10-race card at Tioga Downs beginning at 6:50 PM.

Given the nod as the 5-2 morning line favorite is Honky Tonk Woman and Andrew McCarthy, who will leave from post position number one in Saturday's third race.

In six starts this year, Honky Tonk Woman has one win and four seconds, good for $137,514 in seasonal earnings for trainer Ross Croghan.

Her lone win came in the Fan Hanover consolation on June 18, when the 3-year-old daughter of Western Ideal – Allamerican Raquel lowered her lifetime mark to 1:50.2.

Only three colt pacers entered for the $62,500 Jersey Cup counterpart and will be run as a non-betting race between the second and third race at approximately 7:18 pm.

"The Ladyship Stakes" will be carded as race number three on Saturday night and will be simulcast as part of the Meadowlands Saturday night card.
