Four divisions of New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old pacing
fillies highlighted a 12-race card on Saturday night at Tioga Downs.
Posting the fastest mile of the night was Silk Pajamas with
Jimmy Marohn Jr. for trainer Ron Burke.
The 2-year-old daughter of Bettor's
Delight – Silksanddiamonds left the gate from post five and settled in second
as Jetta Blue Chip (Howard Parker) cut through an opening quarter of 27.3.
The
pair then raced in order through fractions of 57.2 and 1:26.3 before pulling
out of the two hole around the final turn to challenge in the lane.
In the
stretch Marohn and Silk Pajamas easily drew clear of the field to capture
victory in 1:54.4.
Other division winners included: Joy's Choice – Jeff Gregory
(1:55.1), Give Me An Amen – Jeff Gregory (1:55.2), and Summertime Lea – Jim
Marohn Jr. (1:55.1).
Sean Bier vaulted to a career milestone on Saturday night at
Tioga Downs when he captured his 2000th career win in the 12th
and final race with Smashing Revue. Tioga Downs would like to congratulate Sean
on his career milestone and wish him the best of luck with the rest of the
racing season.
