Fool Me Once leads 18 sophomore pacing colts in NYSS action Sunday at Tioga


Fool Me Once wins a Sire Stakes at Vernon Downs in June

North America Cup elimination winner, and multiple sire stakes victor, Fool Me Once, leads the headlines for 18 3-year-old colt pacers on Sunday afternoon at Tioga Downs.

Campaigned from the Mark Austin Stable from Ontario, Canada, the 3-year-old son of Art Major – Fool That I Am has enjoyed a wonderful first half of his sophomore campaign. Fool Me Once has recorded six victories in eight beautifully mapped out starts to keep the 10-time career winner fresh heading into the second half of the season. Fool Me Once took his seasonal mark of 1:48.1 when he captured an elimination of the North America Cup at Mohawk in June. Scott Zeron will make the trip to Nichols, New York to drive Fool Me Once who will start from post four in the first of two $67,243 NYSS divisions.

In the second $67,243 division, Source Of Pride has been installed as the 5/2 morning line favorite for the Jimmy Takter stable. The 3-year-old son of American Ideal – Trim Hanover won a division of the NYSS at Yonkers two starts back in 1:50.4. Jim Morrill Jr. has been listed to drive Source Of Pride who will leave from post position number two in Sunday afternoon's ninth race.
